Monkey's Paw

1. I wish for $1,000,000,000 in my basement that appeared on its own with no way of anyone wondering how I obtained more money.

2. I wish there were no diseases, but the population would not increase due to it.

3. I wish I could use any superpower whenever I wanted, but would not mean I had any responsibilities.

Journal #10

At the end of the play, Mark Antony says Brutus was a truly honorable man- and I totally agree. Brutus’s reasons for killing Caesar in the first place are much more honorable than that of Cassius. Also, the way he dies at the end shows how he is honorable, too. He does what is best for his country, and this wins respect even for his closest enemy.
When Brutus must decide if he will kill Caesar, he does so for the good of rome. He says, “’Speak, strike, redress!” Am I entreated To speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise, If the redress will follow, thou receivest Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus!” (II. i. 55). This is basically saying that he will do whatever Rome asks of him. Brutus wants to help the most people he can, which is most definitely honorable.
The other conspirators want to kill Antony, as well, yet Brutus knows that would be dishonorable and foolish. Brutus says, “Let us be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. We all stand up against the spirit of Caesar;  And in the spirit of men there is no blood: O, that we then could come by Caesar's spirit,  And not dismember Caesar! But, alas, Caesar must bleed for it! And, gentle friends,  Let's kill him boldly, but not wrathfully” (II. i. 168). Brutus doesn’t want to spill more blood than necessary, and this is honorable.
Finally, at the end, Brutus does not want to be taken prisoner and humiliated, so he kills himself. This in itself is honorable to not let anyone triumph over you. If Antony had captured him instead of him being dead, then he would be paraded around as a sign that he had lost. But he had honorably saved himself from that experience.

Journal #9

“But, Lepidus, go you to Caesar’s house. Fetch the will hither, and we shall determine How to cut off some charge in legacies” (IV. i. 7).
Antony
To Lepidus
Antony, Octavius, and Lepidus are planning to assassinate supporters of the conspirators and Antony tells Lepidus to get Caesar’s will.
This shows that Antony is using the money given to the people for his own good and he is not an honorable man.

“Urge me no more, I shall forget myself. Have mind upon your health, tempt me no further” (IV. iii. 36).
Cassius
To Brutus
When Cassius and Brutus are arguing Cassius becomes fed up with Brutus and threatens him.
This shows that these two friends are suffering from a temporary quarrel that shows the pressure they are under.

“No man bears sorrow better. Portia is dead” (IV. iii. 150).
Brutus
To Cassius
After their fight, Brutus tells Cassius what is upsetting him.
This shows that Brutus is a stoic, yet he is not able to fully help himself in this situation.

“Mistrust of my success hath done this deed” (V. iii. 65).
Titinius
To Messala
When they discover Cassius’s body Titinius is devastated that his friend killed himself.
This shows that Titinius was never in any danger, and Cassius killed himself over nothing.

“The conquerors can but make a fire of him. For Brutus only overcame himself, And no man else hath honor by his death” (V. v. 56).
Strato
To Antony, Octavius, Mesalla, Lucilius, and the army
When they ask what has happened to Brutus, Strato replies indignantly.
This is saying how Brutus will not be anyone’s prisoner and no one shall get the triumph of killing him.

The 4 Humors

Stoicism or Epicurian

I would be more stoic then Epicurian because I hide my emotions from other very easily and I am so overconfident that I have no fear of losing friends.

My Tragic Flaw

My tragic flaws would be overconfidence observant, because sometimes I appear arrogant and give people the wrong idea. Yet I am very observant because I'm quiet and almost give off a sort of dazed vibe.
